i own a gibson les paul and have been tempted for so long to buy a new guitar. Im realyl into rock and obviously lean towards kramer and ibanez for a bit of whammy bar action, but why are kramers so cheap? are they crap?

Are Kramer Guitars good for heavy metal?
I've been wondering how a 1980's pre Gibson buyout would sound for playing heavy metal styles, mainly for thrash, melodeath, and various other styles. I've been considering one with a HSS pickup configuration, and I like the sound of a deep, distorted, crunchy humbucker. Both of my guitars have two humbuckers, instead of a humbucker and two single coils. I've never played much with single coil pickups, anyone with more experience with these please give me some advice.
Experiences with Kramer Guitars?
I was browsing my local craiglist when I found somebody selling a kramer focus 3000 guitar for only 45 dollars. I currently have a squier bullet, but i'm moving to university soon and would like to bring a guitar, but I also come home on weekends sometimes and don't want to lug a guitar back and forth so maybe I'll buy the kramer guitar to leave at school. Does anybody have any experience with the kramer focus 3000? Does 45 dollars sound too good to be true, and will the strings be hard to change since its a floyd rose. I don't really plan on using the whammy bar.
